​​​​Temasek Foundation supports programmes that uplift lives and communities in Asia, including in education.

 

To do so, we are seeking innovative technology-based solutions that address gaps faced by educators and school leaders in delivering quality education for learners aged 10-25 years old in Southeast Asia.

These solutions should be ready to be piloted and support teaching to be more accessible, effective and future-relevant.

These innovative solutions can include, but are not limited to:

1. Evolving the role of teachers/educators:

• Tools redesigning their roles (E.g. AR/VR/MR, peer to peer teaching/learning etc.)

• Reducing administrative load, promoting retention (E.g. teacher well-being, classroom/lesson management etc.)

• New roles in the community augmenting teaching (E.g. coaching/mentoring networks etc.)

 

2. Improving the effectiveness of teaching:

• Professional development of teachers (E.g. 21st century skills, interdisciplinary teaching, digital literacy, E-pedagogy etc.)

• Adaptive teaching and feedback for diverse learners (E.g. AI based teaching assistant etc.)

• Relevance of skillsets adapted to market demand (E.g. Skills mapping and matching to industry etc.)

3. Introducing new models to reach the underserved:

• Affordable, tailored services/products for new market segment (E.g. low-cost product range, offline solutions, unique rural distribution model etc.)”​​​
